Meet the Speaker: Holly Steele, Technology Director at Creed

Which metric matters most to you personally right now and why?
The metric that matters most right now is sales invoiced vs target. We recently went through a major IT transformation in one of our regions that included a warehouse move and change of ERP. With all the transformation, IT and business teams are laser-focused on making sure that business and our customer disruption is kept to a minimum. Sales invoices vs target is helping us to monitor that.
What decision do you expect to still be unresolved this time next year?
The decision I expect to still be unresolved in a year: who wins in the new world of AI and how? AI is one of the most disruptive technical advancements that most of us will see in our lifetimes. It has the potential to reshape organisations, career paths, and the way we view and execute work. Right now we are in a great experimentation phase where opportunities and exploration abound but it’s still unclear who will be the most successful at harnessing this tech and in what ways. A fun one to watch and play with!
Where do you most need external insight or perspective right now?
Right now, I most need external insight, perspective, and inspiration on the topic of innovation. For the last two years, my organisation has been focused on integrating into a new parent company which has involved a lot of foundational technology work. Driving business performance and partnering with the business on innovation has taken a back seat so it’s fun for me to see what others are doing and think about ways we can experiment with approaches and ideas at Creed.
